Same Stage, New Stag
Why The Name Is Changing

That vision includes Red Stag Dinner Theatre, Red Stag Restaurant, and the Red Stag Foundation for the Arts. Each piece has its own purpose, but together they create something stronger: a place for entertainment, hospitality, education, gathering, and community support.
Â
The new name gives us room to grow while keeping the heart of the experience intact.

So yes, the name is changing. But the tradition of dinner, theatre, hospitality, and memorable nights out is still very much alive. We are honoring where this place came from while building something that can serve Southwest Virginia for the next 25 years and beyond.
For more than 25 years, Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre has been part of this region’s story. It has welcomed generations of guests, created countless memories, and proved that live theatre could not only exist in Southwest Virginia, but thrive here. That legacy matters deeply to us, and it is not something we are walking away from.

The name change to Red Stag Dinner Theatre marks the beginning of a new chapter, not the end of the old one. Under the direction of Dr. Amanda Brewer Lord and her family, our goal is to build on the foundation that came before us while creating a broader, more connected vision for the future. We want this place to be more than a theatre, more than a restaurant, and more than a single night out. We want it to become a family of brands working together to serve this community more fully.
